Moss is a senior at Appalachian State University studying journalism with a minor in media studies. 

Moss most recently worked as a data intern at The Virginian-Pilot via the Dow Jones News Fund. He worked with reporters to help visualize and interpret data while also working on the breaking news beat. 

He also has experience working in Washington, D.C. at The Washington Times. In D.C., he covered congressional hearings, BBQ festivals, politics in foreign countries and trade tensions with China as an intern reporter on the foreign affairs desk.

He was the Editor-in-Chief for The Appalachian Student News Group for the 2019-20 school year. Previously, Moss was the News Editor and In-Depth Editor.

He was also the political editor at The Appalachian covering the 2020 election.

Currently, Moss works at the Watauga Democrat covering health, business, environment and politics. 

Moss was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina where he attended Durham School of the Arts. He started my journalism career with the high school newspaper, The Gallery, his sophomore year and later became Editor-in-Chief his senior year.
